the fact that liberal show hosts are bad-mouthing each other. Sam Seder is AAR, and Schultz's show will bump his time on the AAR channel on XM. Why shouldn't Seder object to that? He didn't insult Schultz.

What they should both be doing is demanding that XM *ADD ANOTHER DAMN LIBERAL CHANNEL!!!!* Why are there several rightwing channels and only one liberal? Sirius too.

Better yet, instead of insulting another liberal show, why not try to bump a rightwing wacko out of their time slot.

I listen to liberal shows expecting to hear how bad the republicans are, not the other liberal show hosts.

Because I like Sam Seder, a lot, I like Hartman and Randi, and have never been a big Ed Schultz fan. I listened to him for awhile, but just didn't like him. But I haven't heard Seder in awhile and based on what Schultz said he said I could understand where he was coming from. That's not to say he didn't go too far, but if somewhere was asking their listeners to call up and have me taken off XM I'd be angry.

However, is that what Seder said, if not what did he say?

He said NOTHIING negative about Ed Schultz or his show, he was merely supporting another AAR host. Ed said that Sam told his listeners that there was a "debate" going on and Sam did not - basically all he said was that if you listen to AAR on XM and want to hear Thom Hartmann's show, call and ask for it.

I don't make a habit of publicly attacking other liberal talk show hosts- in fact i never do it (maybe i said some sarcastic things about colmes a couple of times).

Apparently, Ed Schultz, a liberal ? progressive talker on the Jones Syndicator roster is supposedly angry at me for asking you guys to support Thom Hartmann. It was nothing against Ed- I just am a fan of Thom's and it is called AIR AMERICA XM 167 and Thom is an AAR host, Ed (and based on his rant today feels strongly about it) is not.

Well, I had heard this was brewing but didn't believe it was possible, but Ed exploded in rage today, lashing out at me, Al, Randi, AAR, Malloy, his callers and even his show handlers.

Personally, I don't think this is about me or my supporting Thom, but more on that later. For now, this is how people are reacting.

If I got it right, he's all wound up over what listeners emailed him about what they thought they heard on AAR, not having directly heard it himself.

Also, Schultz is programming 3 hours 5 days a week. AAR is on 24/7. There is HUGE difference in business models.

I can't imagine any progressive who listens to this rant would EVER want to listen to his show again. It's disgusting.

Even Thom Hartmann thought it was nonsense. Rush Limbaugh and others of his ilk have very similar lists.

As for selling ads, AAR has contracted with Jones Radio Networks since 2004 to do their ad sales. And Ed is syndicated by... Jones Radio Networks.

I heard the rant, and he got a few things wrong in it. Perhaps he just says stuff for dramatic effect. I had a pretty good idea what the 'boycott list' was when I first saw an actual copy of it. Having been in radio much longer than me, he should know as well. It's a traffic list. And many of the advertisers on the list don't buy talk radio anyways.

Most radio people have a problem with that. And it's not limited to him either. Randi Rhodes is known to be a bit thin-skinned herself.

Most of Ed's blowup the other day can be attributed to the whole fragile ego thing. He was wrong to do it. Ed and AAR coexist more than the people involved would ever like to admit.

The whole Olbermann thing, if true, is pretty lame.
