1. Good current info, good map.

FYI, Fire #1, the Ranch Fire, is mostly in remote chapparal, not many homes in that area. So it looks worse than it is for people.

2. Thanks for this info! I've got a number of relatives in the Grass Valley/Slide fire area.

All are safe--but one is still at risk, and several of their homes are still at risk. I'm worried to see that the Slide fire (closest to my relatives) was still completely uncontained, as of publication of this map. The santana winds typically die down after three days, but they can also suddenly whip up again, after a lull. But santanas or not, the biggest of these fires are still out of control.
