Fred Thompson Campaign Bleeding Staffers
Sorry fr the web site source, but the story was too good to let go.

http://www.newsmax.com/kessler/thompson_staff_leaving/2007/10/25/43880.html

.....Thompson personally hired Jim Mills, a highly respected Fox News producer, as his press spokesman. Two weeks later, after Thompson hired William Lacy as his campaign manager, Thompson fired Mills.

Mills gave up a hefty paycheck at Fox to join the Thompson campaign. He told friends he considered Thompson essential to the future of America. His firing outraged colleagues at Fox. Because Mills joined a campaign, his chances of being re-hired are diminished. He is still looking for a job.

J. T. Mastranadi, Thompson’s director of research, quit in horror after Thompson’s wife Jeri began taking attendance at campaign headquarters in McLean, Va., one late Friday afternoon. Jeri Thompson actually called staffers at home to ask where they were and why they should be paid.

“The younger ones thought they were going to lose their jobs,” a former staffer said. “The more established ones were offended and asked themselves, why do I need this? One asked if Jeri would be calling him at 1 a.m. to check up on him when he was doing campaign work.”

Ceck out the whol article. It references several other staffers ho've left in anger and disgust! I guess Feddie jut isn't what al those Freepers thought he was going to be.

7. I loved the part about the guy from FOX leaving a GREAT PAYING
job to join Freddie's campaign, only to be fired! And that he probably can't return to FOX! That tells me Freddie isn't going to have many friends at the GOP network, and that's NOT a good spot for any Pub candidate!!!!

15. "And the death spiral has begun...." Thompson commits political suicide....
First, Thompson puts his wife in charge of his national campaign.
Second, Thompson stands by and watches Jeri run off experienced political strategists.
Third, Thompson appears at campaign events without knowing the issues important to the audience.
Fourth, Thompson reads his comments and asks for a round of applause for himself, and then
comments "I had to drag that out of you"
Fifth, Thompson answers media questions with "Where is the food?"(A classic!).
Sixth, Thompson manages to alienate the Fox News Channel talking heads.
Seventh, Thompson fundraising is weak and his poll numbers fall AFTER he announced he is running.

All that is left is the sight and sound of his crashing and burning.
