HEADLINE: Bush visits California, DISMISSES Katrina comparisons
SAN DIEGO - President Bush dismissed comparisons between the federal response to Hurricane Katrina and the California wildfires Thursday, saying that getting help to people who are hurting is the most important thing.

"There's all kinds of time for historians to compare this response to that response," Bush said during a tour of the state's fire-ravaged communities.

will not look good either way

The help here has been LOCAL

Why?

Katrina... Cedar Fire

Yo ashat, 10K cots when close to a million people were evacuated are a drop in the bucket, especially what is it three days after the fact

2. bush's one lesson learned from Katrina
DON'T EVER LET OUR CONSERVATIVE VALUES BE PUT ON SUCH BLATANT DISPLAY FOR ALL THE WORLD TO SEE. If there are fires in California or some other such nonsense in the country lets pretend we really care IN A MORE TIMELY MANNER.

4. California, as always, helped its own people -- we should become our own nation
Why do we need the USA? All we end up doing is funneling our funds to red states who hate us.
California, Washington and Oregon would make a great country.
