Fun with Senator McChinless' office

Today, I called the office of Senator McChinless, and asked the staffer if the senator intended to resign in light of today's press release from Larry Flynt.

She said she had no idea what I was talking about, and the senator was not going to resign.

"Here, let me read you the press release," I said.

"Assignment Editor: Please Embargo until October Twenty.... Uhm, never mind. Pretend I never called."


(Obviously, there was not actually a press release, not even one with an embargo date on it).

I WOULD like to think that my phone-call may have triggered a cascade of responses in the office, but I doubt it.

On the off chance that they're concerned there might actually be a real press release, I don't want to make to TOO easy for them to realize they were hoaxed.
