By the way, here is the second prediciton... even though this is HIS base.. wanna lay odds at how fast insurace companies try to avoid paying? (Act of god I am hearing it right now), and how fast these folks are left to rot?

31. I see that, and raise you some shady "contractors," "roofers," "electricians" etc.
who WILL rob disaster victims of what little insurance money they get. ........ CHA-CHING!

:grr:

32. You forgot crony contractors
I am betting on Haliburton being on the ground FAST... and Caci, well they are based here... so they don't have to go far

And BW... I expect to see them soon in places like Ramona... unless Sheriff Collender makes a hell of a stand!

33. Cronies fall under the umbrella of "shady."
:D

Good luck with your local law enforcement. It, for the most part, failed here... barring exceptions.

34. Local law enforcement has been magnificent so far
but when we look at the unincorporated areas of the county, such as Potrero and Ramona, and I think Vista... where the good Sheriff will have to make a stand... and trust me, there are days I wonder bout Kollender, but I think he will mostly out of self protection.

There is where what has happened in NOLA will repeat in San Diego...

Rancho Bernardo? No way Jose, but those areas.. yep, absolutely.

6. Bad priorities
Chargers have dozens of options. People living in a football stadium obviously don't have any other reasonable options (besides the street).

Too bad that there is only ONE stadium in all of Southern California that SD can play in.
Edit to add: The pre-game moment of silence for those who have lost everything in the fire will be so touching.

15. I have a co-worker from San Diego
She told me yesterday her husband called her to complain that they were using the stadium to house the refugees and they had a home game this weekend.

Then she told me that several of their family members were unaccounted for.

And her husband was worried about the damn football game.

Kind of makes you go hmmmm.

He's a young kid. Maybe he will one day realize he's a selfish prick.

Then again, maybe he won't. He's a republican. :)

If not, tell her to GET THE FUCK OUT NOW! :)

There are plenty of good men out there who have a heart. I bet she could find a nice guy who dotes on her, instead of football memorabilia.

Feel free to tell her my opinion, for what it's worth. (7¢... inflation) :D

She had cancer and is in remission now. So this family has been through the ringer. But that doesn't excuse his selfish attitude.

20. I heard that the number of actual displaced fire victims at Qualcom was in the several hundreds ....
.... as most have returned home or found other places to stay. If that's the case, I honestly don't see it as all that big a hardship.

Unlike NO, San Diego still has fully working infrastructure and accessible services.
