Hillary jabs Barack over his Iraq dig. Barack won't back down.

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. -- Hillary Clinton's campaign jabbed chief 2008 White House rival Barack Obama on Tuesday, accusing him of misstating her position favoring a phased redeployment of U.S. troops in Iraq.

"We are not going to allow Sen. Clinton's positions to be misrepresented," said Clinton spokesman Howard Wolfson as the campaign produced a memo providing seven public statements or votes the New York senator has made in favor of phasing in plans to draw down troop levels.

The Obama campaign did not back down.

The Democratic primary campaign is starting early and heating up as Obama and Clinton seek to define themselves and quickly push back. Obama said at a Sunday press conference in Iowa that he will have his campaign "know" the records of his rivals "so we can compare and contrast."

1. Obama lied - or if one prefers - "mis-spoke" and now it is good to "not back down"?
Rather bush league.

Then add in the statement that military deaths were "wasted" -

and the pandering to the Illinois soft coal folks by supporting the environment destroying coal to oil idea as part of his energy policy

and the Obama for President campaign is having some teething problems.

Better now than latter, and time will make moot as the media has not pushed him on these (which is in itself curious).

But he needs to get his act together.

2. well one good thing about Hillary
She doesn't allow people to misrepresent her positions. She is very aggressive about striking back immediately when people attack her.

It will be a critical skill in the general election and I'm sure her defense team will get lots of practice in the primaries. Everyone will be gunning for her.

3. I'm tired of Hillary already. She needs to run her own campaign, rather than destroy fellow dems.

4. tell that to Obama
He started it. Hillary has every right to defend herself against his misrepresentations.

7. Obama was the one who initiated this one
her campaign was just responding to his comments, I believe.

5. Check out what Obama thinks of the Baby Boomers....

THE time has come, Senator Barack Obama says, for the baby boomers to get over themselves.

An article in the NYTimes today reports that Obama is using his status on a non-baby boomer
to set himself apart from other possible presidential candidates.

(As the article states)
Mr. Obama would be foolish to run solely as the anti-boomer, <...>, if for no other reason
than that the baby boomers are the largest generation in American history, and they vote.

8. I couldn't articulate why I was not warming up to Obama.
Then I started reading his anti-boomer drivel. That did it for me.

His views are the result of being raised by his grandparents (WWII generation) and not on the mainland. He doesn't know what he doesn't know. What an arrogant jerk.

6. Does the bill Obama was referring to call for redeployment?
If not, Hillary is attacking Obama for stating the truth. Typical for someone who bends which ever way the wind is blowing.
