And the Bushco/Organized greed cartel claims..."nawwww there ain't no such thing as INFLATION in America." Your dollars ain't worth a dime, but the lying liars play like inflation don't include your food or fuel...try living without either of those and get back to me Dumbya!

$4.99 a gallon milk and crude oil hit a record high yesterday, the dollar continues to decline in value, but the GOPers say everything is rosy...Bush and his merry band of lying GOPers has put reality on Ignore.

They think America can't handle the truth about ANY issue I guess.

1. "They think America can't handle the truth about ANY issue I guess."
And for the most part, the past 7 years have proven them right.

It's going to take a LOT more than that for the sheeple to wake up and smell the coffee.

13. Matt Liar is on Good Mornin' America pushing the GOP line of
BUSHIT! We're outnumbered in every direction you look on your dial.

The TV news is about as reliable, informative and honest, as reading the funny-papers used to be when we were kids.

I trust L'il Abner or Steve Canyon a hell of a lot more than I trust the corporate pimps on TV news.

The problem is that some people in America haven't figured how full of shit their TVs have become.

Why would a household with a 4 hour boner and blinded by delight, worry about the festering of America?

14. Like I alluded to- it's going to take an economic collapse
Americans have been fat, "happy" and propagandized so long that nothing less than the disaster that's coming will wake them up.

Peak Oil, dollar devaluation and the effects of climate change will eventually take care of that- and I expect that it's going to be a very rude awakening.

It's a another way to rob the lower and middle classes. Yet the Republicans claim that Rangel's tax bill is class warfare. Not including gas and food in the inflation index is class warfare!

That should put a few more nails in the GOP coffin.

Of course, at this point it would seem the Democrats are only marginally better than the Republicans. :(

I hope the Dems in Congress prove me wrong between now and then, but Nancy and Harry are lousy leaders—both major disappointments.

7. It's Healthy If You're Invested Off Shore
If you have money invested in Euros or other foreign currencies, the dollar's plunge is money in your pocket. Yep, life looks great if you see your investments grow despite the American economy.

What the corporate media avoids discussing is the rampant inflation that is hitting millions in this country. The trippling of oil prices in the past 5 years has driven up prices on everything...and its starting to have an affect on the overall economy...making things worse. People are spending an extra $100 a month on gas and then higher prices on anything that is manufactured by and distributed with oil.

The credit crunch grows worse...the next time bomb to explode. Meanwhile more money and jobs go off-shore.

8. Its not that America can't handle the truth
The GOP doesn't want you to know the truth. The average American can't make their paycheck go any further. We are in a recession and soon headed for a depression. My husband and I both work making a decent money but after the house payment the car payment food fuel utilities credit card (HomeDepot) there isn't much left. I remember before when we were making less money (thats before Bush) we could pay are bills and least have a little extra at the end of the month. Now its getting harder to make that happen we have even cut the little extras in our life. Well, anyway hate to whine but sometimes just get so frustrated with this economy.

I live in the southern part of Ohio just moved because of course this wonderful economy of Bush's made me because of job transfer (corporate down sizing). Well, anyway its a small town not much money in the town at all and these people voted republican. I don't get it they have nothing they two are losing jobs losing school funding ect ect. What makes these people vote this way? How far in the gutter do these people have to go before they wake the hell up!

I'm well familiar with the southern Ohio region of the state, and unfortunately, stupid is just a predominant way of life down there. But it goes beyond that. You'll find many of the "folk" down there are fed a constant supply of shit wrapped in "patriotism", and they're happy to eat it. Best of luck to you in the land of the simpletons.

Pick yourself up, man, and find a second - or third - job ("Want fries with that?"). The American economy is good. In fact, it's great! That mortgage thing is just a blip - it'll pass. Why, what we need is more tax cuts for rich people. The more taxes we cut, the more revenue we bring in. You know that, don't you? Now buck up, pay that $4.99, and thank the good Lord George W. Bush is your president. (I don't believe I just wrote that without spewing breakfast on the screen. )

19. Low inflation....right!
I wouldn't be surprised when (if) we get a more ethical administration in place and they revisit the inflation numbers they find that inflation was actually quite a bit higher than what's been reported. With all the lies and fabrications by the current gang in office, it wouldn't surprise me in the least to find out they've been making up the "low" numbers to make themselves look good.

Nobody is going to tell me that inflation is under 10% - I know that at least my grocery bill has gone up 50% over the last 5 years, not to mention my natural gas, automobile gas, etc.. Oh, yeah, I forgot - they took gasoline out of the inflation calculation...even though it's a large part of most people's budget.

41. To be fair
I think farmers dumping cheap milk in protest as middlemen continued to milk their dwindling profits is part of what has finally come due more than excessive greed. Cows aren't oil wells and oil burns more expensively these days to ship their milk.

There was a certain understanding, a benchmark of price comparisons. A newspaper, a first class stamp, and maybe it was a gallon of gasoline(milk?) were supposed to be the same price. Call me greedy but as a postal worker maybe stamps($.41 and resented) should come into their due so I can buy that second yacht.

54. Nah, that's not it. Here's the real reason why prices are actually going up.
I live in one of America's dairy capitols, and literally have a dairy across the road and a few hundred yards down from me (free roaming, thank goodness, so it doesn's smell much). I can go to a store and buy milk less than a day after it comes out of the cow. Still, I paid $4.95 for a gallon of milk last night. A year and a half ago it was $2.25.

The actual reason for the peak, as my neighbor will tell you, is a reduction in supply. There was a massive overproduction in milk five or so years ago that caused milk values to drop below production costs. When that happened, many of the open range dairy farmers lost money...a LOT of money. Some of them even went bankrupt. The remaining dairy farmers had to cut costs to survive, and many did so by either cutting their herd size, or completely switching to something else (like beef cattle). This reduced the amount of milk on the market AND increased the percentage of milk coming from dry-lot dairies and industrial producers who depend heavily on outside feed sources.

Here's where things get nasty. At the same time as production dropped, the ethanol craze kicked in. Silage and hay costs shot way up as many existing fields were converted to corn and other bio-fuel crops by farmers hoping to cash in on the ethanol craze. The dairy farmers who needed that silage and hay saw their operating costs increase dramatically, and had to pass that price increase on.

Did I mention that milk demand has gone UP over the last few years?

So we have reduced supply, increased demand, and a spike in production costs. Milk prices have NOT yet hit their ceiling.

66. thanks for the info, Xithras
used to be the Fed bought any excess milk, dehydrated it, (or made it into cheese) and gave it away to poor people. It was a price-support plan I could agree with!

I suppose that sort of thing is down the memoryhole.

52. I Take It You Don't Buy Organic
Prices have remained steady on Organic Valley, my brand. More expensive than factory farm milk, but at least prices haven't gone up in the ethanol craze.

61. I live 12 miles from the Mayfield Dairy and just paid $5.75 + tax for a gallon of milk.
The clerk cracked up when I said "I guess Scottie Mayfield needs a new lake house". Sometimes I *have* to buy the Mayfield brand because the store is out of the store brand. The store brands average $3.99 - $4.99 around here, but sometimes we get it 2 for $5 or 2 for $6.

62. @ $5.75 a gallon you'd think it was magic milk or something.
Or maybe "Dragin' Milk"(from short legged cows)

And if you eat the cow now days it's Mystery Meat...No wonder we have mad cows!

The world gets more crazy every day with the GOPers running the show.

67. It's Bush and All His Thugs
Bush has to pay off all his thugs and enablers before he leaves office.

Look for prices on necessary commodoties to SOAR between now and the time Bush leaves office.

Oh, How I fervently, ardently wish that Impeachment procedings would begin BEFORE we are all (except Bush and his thugs) are totally bankrupt.
