Dear Tweety:
Tell me something I don't know: tell me who the Hell you think you are that you could come up with a series of rhetorical questions as you did on tonight's show where you asked your two guests, "where does the President come up with this language, this word, 'Homeland' - it sounds 'collectivist' to me", or words to that effect.
This implies that you have not been part and parcel of this whole discussion since 9/11. Do you have any idea how stupid you sound? No? Let me then tell you something else you apparently don't know: you're a complete phony. Your consistent references to your hometown of Philadelphia in order to imply a certain populist outlook, your multiple mentions of your former boss Tip O'Neill which might cause one to infer that you're an insider fall far short of, shall we say, legitimacy. Further, your specious use of terms such as "street-cred" and 'safe-streets when referring to Giuliani's supposed legacy in New York City, are fooling no one. You're a spinnaker sail on a boat whose course was set by Jack Welch, who seemingly locked the wheelhouse, and along with your broadcast buddies, with the exception of Keith Olbermann (who is the one success story on the network) are attempting to right the Republican Juggernaut running into the whirlpool of despair and ruin for a once-great nation.
If you think that you and your ilk will not be held responsible in part for this travesty to the Nation and to its Constitution which you seem to have rediscovered recently, you are mightily mistaken. We the People will hold your feet to the fire, and no number of apologists in the real world or even here at DU, will be able to resurrect your professional soul which you have sold along with the best interests of this country. The man and his wife whom you vilify overtime, our former President, presided over years of peace, prosperity, and growth. Your hatred of them for whatever personal reasons which you might feel are important has contributed to the dissolution of whatever cohesion was left among the citizens of the United States. Your condescending, spiteful attitude towards these individuals as well as towards Albert Gore, the winner of the Federal election in 2000, show you to be the possessor of minimalist senses of history, of credibility, of common sense, and decency.
