Venezuela Warns U.S. that "Cuba is Not Alone"
http://www.venezuelanalysis.com/news/2763

Mérida, October 25, 2007 (venezuelanalysis.com)- Responding to US President George W. Bush's threats towards Cuba on Wednesday, Venezuelan authorities warned yesterday that "Cuba is not alone." The US president called on the international community to prepare for a "transition" in Cuba and vowed to maintain the embargo of the island. Both Venezuelan and Cuban authorities rejected the statements, labeling them "imperialist aggression."

"He spoke like an imperialist and a colonialist," said Venezuelan parliamentarian Saul Ortega about Bush's statements. Ortega assured that the reaction to these threats will be increased unity among the people of Latin America. "In response we have to close ranks in defense of the principles of sovereignty and self-determination," he said.

Vice-foreign minister Rodolfo Sanz assured that the United States was making a mistake with their statements towards Cuba and maintained that the "times have changed."

"We aren't going to sit here with our arms crossed before some diabolic adventure," he said. Sanz assured that the Cuban people can count on support from nations like Venezuela, Bolivia, and Nicaragua, among others, stating that "Cuba is not alone."

2. Ahh, so now we'll have Russia, Iran, Cuba, Venzeula, China
and how many others allied together against US (the new Germany) in the upcoming WWIII?

Tell me again, Freepers, why your boy Bush* and his little sycophant Petrayus should be Nobel Peace Prize recipients?

6. Good for Venezuela. Of course, this may add excitement and challenge to the prospect
of Bush's envisioned Bay of Pigs II. He may find it downright irresistable, knowing that he could plunge Latin America into war. He doesn't seem capable of rising to common sense.

Venezuela is right to remind the world that things have changed since the years immediately after Cuba gained its freedom from US-supported bloody dictator Batista. Back then, during the height of the Cold War, Latin America was still in flux, as it had been a snap for Eisenhower and others to maintain a string of US interest-serving puppets. Those countries could be much more easily managed then, as their people didn't have as much collective knowledge of what was really happening to them, and how.

That's all different now. They have been informed by history. They are "on" to U.S. right-wing Presidents and their intention to control the Western Hemisphere (not much democracy to it!).

They are going to develope their OWN unity, their own identity, and there won't be much Bush can do about that, if there is any justice.
