Huckabee cracks double digits in national poll
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_2008__1/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Friday shows—for the first time ever--Mike Huckabee moving into the top four among those seeking the Republican Presidential Nomination.

Rudy Giuliani remains precariously atop the pack with support from 20% of Likely Republican Primary Voters nationwide. Fred Thompson is close behind at 19% while John McCain enjoys a second straight day in third place with 14% of the vote. Huckabee continues to gain ground and is just two points behind McCain at 12%. This is the first time all year that Huckabee has surpassed Mitt Romney. The former Massachusetts Governor slipped another point and he is now at just 11% nationally. No other Republican attracts more than 3% support while 18% are undecided. (see recent daily numbers).

Given Huckabee’s progress in the polls, Rasmussen Reports will add his results to the daily tracking history table starting on Monday.

While the national tracking poll numbers are discouraging for Romney, the latest Rasmussen Reports polling in New Hampshire shows the former Massachusetts Governor re-establishing a lead in that state. In fact, the New Hampshire poll has good news for Romney, McCain, and Huckabee while showing a significant decline for Thompson.

4. Former Governor of Arkansas, by-the-book Religious Right nutcase.
I've thought for a while that he ought to be doing better
than he's been, given how pathetic the front-runners must
appear to the Religious Reich.

7. Fred tanked, so Hucky's getting a honeymoon and a second look.
Had Fred done well, Huck would be an asterisk. This is more evidence that the GOP does not have a quality candidate.

3. Awesome--he's taking down Romney. But then, not so awesome--
that leaves Rudy and McCain, who would probably be tougher to beat. Never mind.

6. Economic conservatives hate him the most of any Repub candidate
The fact that he says words like "Jesus" and "Bible" alot will score him points with the fundies, but I don't see him going very far. His fundraising has been dreadful too.
