Assuming Raw Story is correct that Blue Mountain's "satirical" e-cards denigrate only Democrats like Nancy Pelosi, but no Republicans.

2. I've been boycotting Blue Mountain Cards...
since they started charging for their e-cards. This story, if true, makes me all the more glad I quit using them.

Jerks!

3. A number of DUers pointed out that it is NOT a card offered by Blue Mountain...
It's a "user-made" card. That's sort of like the "Bush/Hitler" ads from MoveOn.Org's contest being touted by the GOP as an official ad.

12. This was surely an awfully busy day for them today, you know.
They've always been a great Democratic company according to Buy Blue.

14. It IS a card offered by Blue Mountain.

I don't know what a "user-made" card is, but it's listed right there in the top row, center.

15. It is a "member" card, which I read as a card that can only be
sent by a dues paying member. I clicked on the "Democratic" card and received a message that I couldn't send it because I'm not a member. I could send any of the limited selection of "free" cards, however. Nowhere on the site does it specify that member cards are designed by members, only that they can only be sent by members. It's a Blue Mountain card - and very offensive.

Personally, I don't care whether it's user-made, members only, or free. It sucks and should be removed.

18. No, it was not a member MADE card; it's a Blue Mountain approved/designed card
which is available, as are the vast majority of their cards, only for paid members to send. Members may add their own individualized comments to cards they send, but those comments are only read by the single recipient of the card and OF COURSE this company is not going to allow any member of the public to add personal comments to their website. You show me where that function is offered and I will pop right over there and create a Love Republican Style with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice gleefully creating the lies which resulted in the deaths of all the Americans and Iraqis killed in the war.

4. Go to Blue Mountain and find their web feedback and complain.
I did.

It's a member-created card, it's offensive, and it should be removed from the site.

17. Labeling Dem leaders as pro S&M and using term "VD"! Here's my letter to Blue Mountain
"Your "Love Democratic Style" card is blatantly political and offensive. I enjoy political humor, but labeling the entire Democratic party as involved in S&M, and then using the acronym "VD" is waaaaaaaaaaaay over the top. Your political affiliation (neo-conservative, pro-Bush) is also proven by the fact that you don't offer a "Love Republican Style" card featuring Bush, Rumsfeld, Rice & Cheney deliberately lying the US into war and resulting in the deaths of over 3000 US soldiers, the crippling and maiming of at least 30,000 more U.S. soldiers and the deaths and maimings of over 1/2 a million Iraqis. I learned about this card on the Democratic Underground website, with over 100,000 registered users (all very active on the web) and many more visitors. The original poster called for a boycott of Blue Mountain cards based on your scurrilous card, and I certainly will join in and tell everyone on my email lists to do the same."

And that's not a "member created" card. Like all their cards, it allows senders to add comments. Blue Mountain offers a very few free cards. The rest require paid membership. This card was created by Blue Mountain.

Especially the part about pointing out how many readers there are of DU. I hope that B.M. (hah!) pays attention.

I haven't used Blue Mt since I had to pay, this card seems to have been made by a private person, not Blue Mt. itself.

Offensive cards at this site about the Democrats... Where are the republican cards? This is so bad....

BTW, if you have any links to HolidayGraphics.com, please remove them, I do not want my site affiliated with yours, and I have removed any links to Bluemountain...

Your site loses it's beauty when you present this as your content....

23. Apparently they are owned by American Greetings. . . .
I just sent them an angry email and noticed below the email box a mention of their parent company: American Greetings. I can't really boycott Blue Mountain since I never used them in the first place, but I sure as hell won't be buying any cards from American Greetings again.
