10 Years From Now, We Will All Look Back At The Bush Era and think...
Ok, I'll start:

I'll think, wow, if not for the Lord of the Rings movies, there would have been NOTHING to live for!

What will you think?

33. I think that's very likely. It's not just "peak oil." It's peak civilization
And Junior Bush with the "reverse Midas touch" was the one that rubbed our noses in it. I fear that this is as good as it's ever going to get...and not for much longer.

16. I'll be optomistic....
We will think, "That was the era that pushed us into making the United State a real democracy, not a democracy-as-long-as-it-doesn't-jeopardize-corporate profits. That was when we realized we must never take our freedoms for granted. That's when we realized we had to control those who control the information. That was when we broke up the Washington DC self-referential triad of Legislators, Media Pundits, and Political Advisers, and made the legislators understand they work for us!"

And ten years later here we are in a post-economic-Apocalypse building rubber dog-shit for Chinese markets, living in mud-hut villiages...

Sorry I fear the next ten years more than I do the present. This guys legacy will be far from over when he leaves office.

22. History suggests Americans are slaves to fear. We'll forget about bush and elect a Repuke.
Six years after Watergate we ended up with Reagan and his fear of the evil empire. Before that we had the fear-induced witch hunt known as McCarthyism. Yet the nation still voted for Nixon as the country was stuck on the fear of communism. It is remarkable how Americans forgot how truly evil and criminal the Republican party is.

Now our fear is terrorism with xenophobia coming on strong. "We have nothing to fear but fear itself." And our fear is literally our Achilles heel.
