In the European Union, Summer Time begins and ends at 1:00 a.m. Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). It begins the last Sunday in March and ends the last Sunday in October. In the EU, all time zones change at the same moment.

Most of the United States begins Daylight Saving Time at 2:00 a.m. on the second Sunday in March and reverts to standard time on the first Sunday in November (November 4, this year). In the U.S., each time zone switches at a different time.

Luckily, I looked this up. Dr. D. is leaving for London in a few hours on her way to Bangalore, India, again. She would have been very confused at Heathrow, waiting on her flight to Bangalore.

1. I hate Daylight Savings Time!
I hate the change -- my body takes forever to adjust! I guess the only good thing about it this year is I'm having minor surgery on the Thursday before and going back to work the next Tuesday. I'll get an extra hour of recuperation. :)

I'll bet there are a lot of people expecting it this weekend!

2. I'm not ready for this
The reverting back to standard time gets harder each year. by the time 9:00 pm comes I'll be sitting on the couch snoring, and my poor senile old cat that wakes me up at five in the morning will start at four now.

3. Our congress acted so candy companies could sell more
Halloween candy. But congress gave it great thought. Several million dollars of "campaign contributions" worth of thought
