1. Not to defend a Repug but it's protocol if the person sitting in the Speaker's chair
Edited on Wed Feb-14-07 10:18 PM by karlrschneider
is a gentleman. ;-)

edit: or even if he isn't one. :D

4. She had surrogates in, on and off.
The gender confusion is sort of great, in a way.

6. The honor of
presiding over the House is rotated between the members of the majority. In fact it is only on rare occasion that the actual Speaker occupies the chair.

Most of the time they are in committee hearings or attending to administrative matters.

7. I think she was some of the time, but I don't know exactly when.
In the Senate, the person up on the dais is always "Mr. President" (I can't remember ever seeing
a female seator presiding)
:-)

8. So Funny To Hear the Hannitys of the World
Condemn liberals for their disrespect of B*sh, leader of our War Machine.

But in the same breath call Obama "Osama" and Speaker Pelosi every name in the book.

18. I Remember the Day Calvin Coolidge Said:
Nothing in the World can take the place of persistence. Talent
will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with
talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a
proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated
derelicts. Persistence and determination are omnipotent. The
slogan “press on” has solved and always will solve the
problems of the human race.

OK. I can't really remember that day.

13. Sounds archaic needs to be changed. Silly it would have to be officially changed. Personally I
would expect someone in Congress to have the sense and respect to do so without having to be told. Unfortunately I do know better. What a sad state our country is in.

19. "Madame Secretary" is incorrect, is it not?
When referring to Condi Rice, since she's single.

But none of those idiots can spell "Mademoiselle" -- they just think it's a magazine and not a word meaning "Miss".

She may have been off on some committee somewhere or something. You never know.

Darth Cheney is the President of the Senate. How many times do you think he presided?

20. Misogyny is really abundant lately
The Amanda Marcotte/Melissa McEwan sacrifices, the Hillary hating, this BS.

It's going to get a lot worse for the good old boys, and they will be flinging every single piece of poo they can get their hands on.
