Every time I see someone with a Bush/Cheney '04 bumper sticker
I wanna say "so, how's that working out for you?".

I read the article on truckers with prohibitively high fuel prices.
I read about kids dying in Iraq.
I read about how people can't find jobs, or the incredible debt we've built up. Forget the deficit - the deficit is the yearly amount. What counts is the "other D word" - the debt.
I read about kids not getting medical SCHIP funding, while Bush is asking for another $60 frickin' billion and how we're going to be in Iraq for another 10 to 15 years.

You voted for him in 2000, I can let that slide, but '04?

So, how's that working out for you? Say, you don't heat with oil, do you? How's your budget for this winter? Got it covered?

Good luck to you.

2. I feel the same way
Here in NJ i see less of them nowadays for those very reasons you listed. I always look and it is usually an unhappy person driving. We have a crazy person in town who's car has custom lettering on the back window which says "Terrorists Support Kerry." Kind of ironic since they really support Bush who is making more of them every day.

3. You'd be surpised, but here in NC...
they would probably respond:

"Bill Clinton did nothing to fight terror and I thank God every night for George Bush."

Sad, but true.

12. Here in NC I was behind a Bush/Cheney '04, and they had another bumper
sticker which read "If we're not supposed to eat animals, why did God make them out of meat?".

4. The startling thing
Is how many of those vehicles are poorly-maintained beaters, and it's pretty obvious that the guy (and it's usually a guy) behind the wheel is just scraping by. I just have to wonder what's more important this ass-clown: his hatred of gays, or his love of guns, or being paid a living wage.

9. Not in my neck of the woods, alas.
The W stickers are on everything still - from big ass Hummers and Suburbans to Lexus' and Mercedes'. I still see MANY W stickers every single day - and they are usually also sporting the sticker for my fucking Congressman Peter Roskam as well. A real two-fer.... :puke:

People in my town LOVE the Rethugs, no matter who it is. Dick Cheney is revered here and campaigned for my Congressman to great applause. Of course these are all fundie evangelicals too. More alas for me... (sob).

5. It's Clinton's fault.
Yep, that's what a lot of them say.

Totally ignorant, delusional assholes.

6. They are comforted by the knowledge of...
...how much worse off we would all be if that lying, sighing algore had managed to steal those Florida votes back in 2000. Thank goodness George Bush was in the White House, er, Crawford on 9-11, etc.....

There is no reasoning with people who still support Bush-Cheney. FOX and Rush have supplied them with the reasons and there is no changing their minds. I just shake my head in disgust and disbelief when I see those fools.

7. Right: 2000? Okay, give them the benefit of the doubt, but 2004?
WHAT the F---- is WORNG with you??? You gotta' be asking yourself that, or there's NO hope.

Problem is, there's a whole hell of a lot of people who don't ask themselves these questions. Someone in Congress recently refered to the lemmings . . . 'nuff said.

10. The scary thing is
Okay, they even voted in '04. That's not really forgiveable, but hey, it happened.

HOWEVER why do you STILL have the bumper sticker on your car? Even if I had voted for him '04 I would have scraped that thing off long ago.

That's the part that scares me. These guys STILL think Hillary or Obama or whoever would rain hell on this country. HELLOOO!!! Take a frickin' look around!

(sigh)

At 60 MPH, it's difficult to carry on a nuanced political discussion.

14. One of the
few consolations we have is knowing that the Democrats are not the only ones suffering in this country. The repubs are suffering also. They have to pay the same for heating, gas, and food as we do. Some of them lost their jobs and had to settle for lower paying jobs in return. And they have to do it knowing they voted for this travesty.

15. No, the sad part
is that we know it could have been avoided. Most of them don't seem to make the connection. The ones that have renounced GWB have made the connection, but the rest with the bumperstickers still intact and still listening to Rush, they don't get it. That's the saddest part, imo.

16. I still have my 2004..........
"Defend America
Defeat Bush"

bumpersticker on my car.

In fact, I was complimented on it just the other day.

I took the 'Kerry/Edwards' one off but left my MoveOn sticker on. I receive comments on it regularly. Are people more aware now than they were back on 2004? I think so judging from people commenting or giving me a .

BTW, the 2 atickers I had and the 1 left are the only bumperstickers I have put on any vehicle ever. And I'm in my 50's.
