Why Is Brit Hume So Angry?
Brit Hume acts like he's mad at the world all the time. Wasn't he at one time a respected newsman? I think he turned sour when his son died. He sure has his grump on. Any idea why?

29. But they were angry even when they were on top!
For years, Republicans and rightie wackos controlled every part of the government, plus the corporations, the churches, and the military. Despite this, blowhards like Limbaugh and Hannity were sputtering with rage every single day, screaming into the microphone about the awful godless evil liberals.

Now that they're losing, they're still mad as hell over everything. At least now they have a reason, as you mentioned.

The fact is, fear and rage don't just underlie the right-wing message, they are the right-wing message. Years and years of that eventually show up in their facial appearance, as we see with Brit. (You doubt this? I give you Jean Schmidt.)

31. Anger fuels their fire.. they have to be angry.. They have NO smart
solutions to ANYTHING, so they have to make people afraid and angry to agree to their lamebrained schemes..

NOTHING pleases them,.. they are angry robots.

They ran the place for years and still did not accomplish their goals? why not? They NEED those unresolved issues to keep getting elected:)

32. Huckabee is trying to buck the anger trend.
He frequently mentions that although he is a "true conservative", he's not angry about it.

I take this as a reference to the image of the Angry Right.

11. Gotta be an act
After all, the last six years have made him a VERY wealthy man. Unless, of course, there's more to life than simply the accumulation of material goods. In which case, he may indeed be quite angry to find out that he bartered his soul for a bag full of trinkets.

20. Actually, at one point we would have felt good about him.
As a reporter for Jack Anderson's column, Hume uncovered an internal corporate memo indicating that the 1972 Republican National Convention had been underwritten by ITT Corporation and that, in exchange, an antitrust case had been conveniently dropped by the Nixon White House shortly thereafter. Later, Anderson published a series of classified documents indicating the Nixon administration, contrary to its public pronouncements, had tipped in favor of Pakistan during the 1971 India-Pakistan war. After those revelations, Anderson and his staff, including Hume, his wife and children were placed under surveillance by the Central Intelligence Agency.<2> The agents code-named Hume "eggnog" and observed his family going about their daily business. This came to light during the Ford administration during Congressional hearings, and more recently as the result of a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit.

He has been downright vicious for ages. Loathesome person, and not terribly bright.

Edited on Sun Oct-28-07 11:47 PM by masmdu
Just speculation but maybe deep in his heart (assumption that he has one) he knows that the right-wing condemnation of homosexuality and his dogged support of such thinking played a roll in his gay son's suicide. He feels responsible and the bitterness is obvious.

25. He's a fucking nut.
Maybe it's because he's an Amaarukan patriot with the name "Brit".

It's funny to watch him on fox news sunday defending even the most ridiculous white house policies, ones that even bill kristol thinks are bullshit.

And yes, I watch fox news sunday. I don't discriminate on sundays.

30. He Was Angry At ABC
I think the only time this guy smiles is when he sees small animals tortured. I recall his work at ABC during the Clinton years and his hate dripping at that time...he was a natural for Murdoch when he started up his propaganda agency.

It was fun to see him get bashed around by Sam Donaldson on the old David Brinkley show.
