Porter Wagner great CW Star passes away
Porter Wagner was a great star. Iremember back in the 60's he used to have a 1/2 hour TV show and launched Dolly Pardon on his show. He said he was her mentor...but my friend married a guy from Dolly Pardon's neck of the woods and said that Porter Wagner was about a third cousin of Dolly's. That he didn't want people to know it was a relative thing. There were a lot of women who auditioned for the job on his show and she got it. They think it was because they were related. All in all I liked his kind of country western. The bunch they have now a days with their bush suck up-- sucks themselves.

1. I watched those re-runs on the weekends as a kid
Saw Porter at the Grand Old Opry in the '80s.

He was a hoot.

5. don't forget Parton!
I thought he was already gone, so many of the old stars are rarely heard or seen from, things like this surprise many. Dolly owed him a lot of thanks and I'm sure she gave it over the years in many interviews.

6. He was just an entertainer.
He didn't really work for a living. Not only that, but he also made fundy-propaganda marching songs; http://store.porterwagoner.com/ click on 'gospel', left side of page.

7. I remember that show.
But even as a child he creeped me out. I donno if it was the rhinestones and fringe or what. But my Dad was a fan of the show and we watched it regularly.

Sorry to hear of his passing, thoughts are with his family and loved ones.

8. A relative thing?
If that's a way of saying the size of one boob relative to the other. I love Dolly, but come on, she'd be the first to say her boobs led her to stardom.

Did you know she wrote "I will always love you" as a tribute to Porter? I remember when she sang it on the show.

RIP Porter. You were a good guy, as far as I ever heard.
