If a man had sex with a male corpse, then it is homosexual necrophilia. Calling it simply necrophilia implies man/female, which was not the case, which why the approriate qualifier was used.

This type of smirching homosexuality by pairing it with deviant acts is common and annoying, especially when accompanied by specious arguments in favor of it. You never see headlines that say "heterosexual" anything, heterosexual murder, heterosexual rape, heterosexual molestation, heterosexual necrophilia, heterosexual coprophilia, on and on.

If the "qualifier" is not needed or relevant when the gender is opposite to that of the perpetrator, it is not necessary the other way around.
