I can't tell you how many times I got pulled aside for "random" bag searches- on domestic flights, mind you, and before 9-11 to boot. Yes, I'm a man with long hair, so obviously my bag must be stuffed to the zipper with mar-eeee-wanna! :eyes:

But this would only happen on the East Coast. Never on the West Coast.
