Right before the last election in 04 I had the chance to have 4 'Protest Warriors' on our radio show in Ohio.

We met when they tried to get into a Kerry meeting at his local HQ. They got busted because one of them was wearing a Bush/Cheney 04 hat!!!

Four 18-19 year old white kids in Abecrombie and Bush, W 04 baseball caps, perfectly tilted to indicate they were from the 'hood!!!

It was TOO DAMN FUNNY!

Within 90 seconds I'd pinned them on some education issue, they blamed Clinton and I jumped on one of them. His response?

"Yeah, well you should go marry Michael Moore! Have a gay marriage!"

I shot back "Yeah, will if you get your Imperious Leader to allow that I'll french kiss him on the courthouse steps!"

They were completely stumped...

8. Another 70's memory, from the AF

I was stuck with a redneck roomie at a base, and he and his 3 buddies hung out in our room drinking most of the night. I get in about midnight, come in and hear our neighbors across the hall listening to 'Strawberry Letter 23' kinda loud. I go in to our place ans the rednecks are bitching about the music, so they crank up some Ted Nugent at FULL VOLUME!!!

They turned it down after a minute, and were laughing because the guys across the hall turned their music down. Then I said, "I don't know about you guys, but the Brothers Johnson kick the crap outta that hilljack you were playing!"

In 04, it was late in the campaign before we decided to disengage from fighting the Reich, and only 'go positive.' To write off any hardcore RW crazies and deliver a positive message.

It's SO tempting to engage the crazies, but I do believe in the High Road. When they try to frame the arguement, don't engage them, present a short reasoned response.
