Poll question: Can you read this?

I am able to read this at normal speed. Only a couple of words tripped me up. Supposedly 55 out of 100 should be able to read this:

fi yuo cna raed tihs, yuo hvae a sgtrane mnid too. Cna yuo raed tihs? Olny 55 plepoe out of 100 can.
i cdnuolt blveiee taht I cluod aulaclty uesdnatnrd waht I was rdanieg. 2. Yep
I've seen this before, and thought it was pretty interesting. This snippet may be even more interesting, because the one I read before, only had like two letters switched per word. Looking back at this text, yes, the words are a "taotl mses!"

4. I've always read differently then others
I never really read line by line, I just sort of absorb the paragraph and turn it into a visual in my head, like a movie. Even in elementary school it would drive my teachers nuts. They would think I didn't read the page, but then I could answer their Comprehension questions on it.

The downside is that I read far faster then I can speak and therefore reading out loud is a chore for me.

10. A lot of us had to take classes and be trained to do that.
When I was in school, it was called "speed reading" ... and that was BEFORE Evelyn Wood.

15. Makes sense. Once you learn to read, most people don't really READ each word
- they recognize common words as an image. Recognizing "hvae" as "have" isn't that different from recognizing any common visual cue, even if it's somewhat altered.

17. Can you read this?
Donald Rumsfeld is briefing President Bush: "Yesterday, 3 Brazilian soldiers were killed." "Oh no!" exclaims the President, "that's terrible!" His staff is stunned at this unprecedented display of emotion, watching as Bush sits, head in hands. Finally, he looks up and asks, "How many is a brazillion?

19. What is important is that the 1st and last letters are 'normal'.
Unless it is 2-3 letters long. I think 55% is a low estimate. I seem to remember 70 or so percent as able to read it.

24. What it looks like if you put it through spell check.
fie you Can Read Tish, you have a strainer mind too. Can you Read Tish? Only 55 plop out of 100 can.
i Colt believe that I cloud alacrity indentured what I was range. The phenomenal power of the human mind, according to a research at Cambridge Inverts, it doesn't matter in what ordure the letterers in a word are, the only operant tong is that the Frost and lsat latter be in the grit pickle. The rest can be a total mses and you can still Read it whiteout a Belem. Tish is bucksaw the human mind does not Read Evey letter by itself, but the word as a loge. Izanami huh? yeah and I always tugboat spelling was important!

Doesn't look like the 55% figure is very accurate, unless maybe the initial sample size contained alot of functionally illiterate people.
