Reid: Congress Will Not Pay For President's Failed War Strategy At Expense Of Priorities At Home

Washington, DC—Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid made the following statement today in response to the President’s remarks this morning:

“Contrary to the President’s remarks, fighting for America’s real priorities is not wasting time. That President Bush thinks differently demonstrates just how out of touch he is with reality.

“The President complains that Congress is spending too much time on oversight and on changing course in Iraq. But if this Administration were playing it straight with the American people, we would have nothing to investigate. And if Congressional Republicans would stand up to the President and demand a change of course in Iraq, we could spend less time working to fix this failed war policy and more time focusing on other threats we face around the world.

“The biggest-spending President in 40 years wants to spend $2.4 trillion on a failed war strategy overseas but he says no to health care for our children, no to caring for our veterans, no to putting more police on the streets, and no to giving our troops a sound strategy in Iraq. Democrats believe that demonstrates a failure of leadership.”

on American citizens all along and went along with it' Pelosi. The two of you have done everything you could to give the administration everything they want so far.

Anyone hear any details on that secret 'trade deal' that Harry and Nancy so proudly announced just before the last funding request was granted?

9. Time to cave soon, as usual for you, when push comes to shove.
The Bush sphincter has some special "emissions" for you.
You must have enjoyed them in the past!
