Anyone ever hear of "Mancow"?
Radio talk show, which seems to run the political spectrum of being angry about things. I couldn't tell if they were left or right - they just talked about things they were mad about. Very weird, almost sounds faked - especially the callers who, every last one of them, started thier cal with "Love you, love your show."

But that's from only one listening. How are they normally?

3. Mancow is a HUGE BUSH LOVER! He USE to be on FAUX NEWS network on the FAUX and Friends morning show.
Edited on Thu Feb-15-07 09:01 AM by in_cog_ni_to
He worked in Chicago for years. He was fired for something he said...can't remember what it was, but he's a bush lover.

21. His Contract Wasn't Renewed On His "Flagship" Station
Erich "Mancow" Mueller used to host a morning show in Chicago on Q101. His contract was not renewed last year and he's been doing his little radio show on a limited number of stations from Disney's studios in Chicago. He has no Chicago outlet and it doesn't appear he will have one anytime soon. That's a big dissapointment to "the cow", who was all over the papers here claiming he'd be back on the air in Chicago within days or weeks...that was over 6 months ago.

25. His popularity reached it's peak during the Clinton scandal...
He was given alot of air time to say some unfunny, unclever, clearly obvious things. Of course Fox news couldn't get enough of this stuff, so after they played with it every day, they'd go to their friend, Mancow, to repeat what they'd just said in a conservatively unfunny way.

8. Oh sweet lord, don't listen to him
I first heard him when I moved to Illinois (he broadcasts out of Chicago). It was the year 2000 and Clinton was still president. He was claiming that trains were being painted gray and military equipment was being painted gray because Clinton planned on attacking American cities.

Several years later, he claimed one day that he hit someone with his car on the way to work and kept driving because he thought the guy might have been coming to attack him. He was asking callers if he should call 911 and the vast majority of his callers were saying no, just let the dude die. It was all a hoax but was disgusting to listen to.

The man is a nutjob. He used to get a lot of (supposed) military people calling and talking about all the un-American liberals and blah, blah, blah. They'd say they just got back from Iraq and talk some bullshit about this and that. Some of it I was pretty positive was absolute crap because my husband was in Iraq at the time.

I blocked out of my mind most of what I heard come out of his mouth. Yech!

10. Mancow Muller is best buds with Sean Hannity and Debbie Schleshle (sp?)
They do each others shows regularly. Mancow originally tried to make it as a Howard Stern Knock-off and when that failed to pan out he tried switching gears to become a cross between Limbaugh and Franken (right wing talking points combined with "comedy"). I don't think that has worked out for him either as he was recently fired from his flagship station in Chicago and the number of stations that carry his syndicated show is dwindling rapidly.

His show is derivative dreck either way IMHO.

11. Yes! And I'm very happy not to tune in to him
When we moved to the area in '95, I "discovered" him on my morning drive. He seemed ok for a good laugh and a little radio entertainment on the way into the office. Then, one morning I tune in to "learn" he was found dead. I heard at least 45 minutes of callers in tears (literally), shocked and saddened by the news. It was heartbreaking to think that a life had been snuffed out so suddenly and I was a part of the mourning fans.

Then, guess who comes on the mic? It was all a joke! Mancow laughed and mocked all of the fans that had been calling in. I turned it off and never forgave him. As far as I know, he never apologized.

A year or two ago he was in the news. One of the guys that worked with him had been murdered. IIRC, the guy was mentally handicapped and shot dead in the street(?). Muller used his publicity to try and find his killer. Don't know if they ever did though.

17. He faked his death?!? Hypocrite!
His website has an appeal toget rid of 'voyeur radio', i.e. stunts exactly like that! it was started becuase of the woman that got water poisoning, but as far as radio is concerned, how is faking your own death to get listeners riled up really any different?

19. His whole bit was sending sidekick Turd out on 'stunts'
like swimming in the middle of Lake Michigan and needing Coast Guard rescue. Over the top stuff, but none of it original. When I would tell my hubby about his latest, he'd grimace and tell me that the stunt of the day had already been done by another radio show a couple of weeks before.

And yes, he really did let his loyal listeners believe he had been found dead. IMO, it was the biggest fuckyou to his fans he could have concocted.

23. Actually, no
The 90% quote is something I came up with. I have GIC's name in my sig because she had a poll up once about whether she should put her name in her sig, I said yes, I thought it was appropriate to put my name in a sig, so she put my name in her sig. When I saw that I put her name in mine, and I just never took it out. We both left them there for a long time, although I haven't been around much lately so I don't know if she left it in hers. It never occurred to me that people might confuse my sig as a quote from someone.

22. Yes, I once had the pleasure of personally telling him to "mind his own fucking business."
I used to have an office in The Chicago Merchandise Mart where his Q101 radio show was headquartered so I would often see him in the hallways of the building. I was in a shoe shop getting my shoes shined one day as he came in to glad-hand the "little people." He made a smart-assed off-the-cuff comment to me to make sure I tip the kid so I told him to mind his own fucking business. I had seen him on Fox and Friends in the morning doing his 'flag draped uber patriot' shtick so I knew enough to hate his guts.

24. I forgot to mention this before: he's a sensationalist crap artist
He had a woman on that (according to him) had a severely retarded daughter - to the point of not even being able to move on her own - and the woman was 'planning' on amputating her daughter's limbs, in order to make it easier to care for her. Seriously. Of course there was a steady stream of people calling in to tell the woman off. Apparently even after faking his own death, his listeners haven't figured out he makes crap up to get people to call in.
