5. I felt it
and I live about 35 miles north. From what I can tell it was either on the Hayward or Calaveras Fault.

It was more than the usual little bumps we get around here.

7. Over near Alum Rock, huh? That's the Hayward fault, iirc.,
5.6 is exciting ... more than just a bump in the night but shouldn't cause much damage. Let's hope it's not a precursor quake.

8. Crap..my youngest daughter flys to Sacramento on Fri for 2 wks
management training. She's never felt a quake. Hope its not a precursor, and hope anyone in the 5.6 tonite was not harmed.

9. I'm in Modesto, and I felt it
I was at the grocery store and could feel the shake, and see the hanging signs wave back and forth. It wasn't scary here, but every time I feel that, I think it may have been bad somewhere. Thank goodness it was as light as they're saying.

17. I was here during Loma Prieta as well
But this one made me a little nervous, because it seemed quite strong in my neighborhood, and you never know where they're centered.
