My ranks for tonight:
Edited on Tue Oct-30-07 10:23 PM by Basileus Basileon
1. Edwards. He was absolutely on fire tonight. Every answer stayed on point.

2. Biden. Didn't get much time, but impressed when he did. I didn't like his last answer--he says first he'd shut down Chinese toy imports as soon as he was President, and then says we can't shut down Chinese toy imports because of the trade deficit. He'd be #1 in my book if he had handled that better.

3. Obama. Smooth and focused, but didn't impress me as much as I was hoping. Great answer to the UFO question--we have problems here on Earth to worry about.

4. Dodd. Eh.

5. Richardson. Ouch. Fell on his chins again. Rambly, long-winded, disjointed answers. Defense of Clinton was obvious pandering for the VP slot--and just now, says to Matthews asking him if he believes in UFOs, "Well, you know, I have to promote Roswell."

6. Clinton. Cut-away shots showed her looking sour. Responses were canned-sounding; attacks on Bush replaced defenses of policy. Had little answer when pointed out Bill Clinton said similar things on Soc. Sec. as Bush did. Prevarication on illegal-immigrant drivers' licenses was painful to watch.

7. Kucinich. Cemented damaging (and slightly unfair) "wacky gnome" image with UFO response. Barack had a much more politically astute answer.

2. As a member of the "wacky gnome" constituency, I'm fine with that.
:D

5. Don't get me wrong, I love him to death, I really do.
I'm always glad to see him out there, and he never makes me cringe. You even want to cheer him in his worst moments, simply because he's so damn awesome.

11. I'm not getting you wrong, I honestly appreciated your post.
I was, like, trying to be humorous. (oh well)

I don't have cable/satellite, so I didn't see the "debate". I also have an ancient computer and OS (windows 98) with very slow dialup, so I can't watch online, either.

I have always thought that DK is awesome. I caucused for him in 2004, and will do so again this time around.

It's all good.

4. Kucinich #2 in my opinion, Edwards #1
No one's opinions were changed by the stupid question. And he handled it well.

6. I'm in agreement with you for the most part.
I thought Biden did pretty well tonight although I didn't catch the about face you mentioned.

Hillary got caught with her panties down around her ankles tonight. She changed her story in front of the same audience. Normally she only does that with different audiences. Oops, must be getting tired keeping all those changing positions straight.

7. I'm not sure I agree with your take on Biden's answer to that Chinese toy thing
I think he said he'd shut 'em down, but that Bush took away that choice because we're in debt to them. At least that's how I heard it.

9. Well, I may have misheard then.
Either way, your proposal to fixing a problem shouldn't be just "I can't do what I want to."

8. The Story Of The Debate Is Basically EDWARDS Won, Hillary BOMBED!
Now, MSM has to do some "THINKING" and STOP the PUSH POLLS for The Queen!

Edwards, Biden, Dodd for me! Obama okay, hit a couple out and a heavy one near the end!

10. They aren't push polls. Her support is real.
That said, I hope it'll drop a bit--especially in IA--after this performance.

21. I'm sure you do know what you think. And regarding tonight's performance,
I'm sure I'm thinking roughly the same thing. She was atrocious.

12. My ranks for tonight
1 HILLARY CLINTON our next president. Showed she could handle her self in a tight situation. With all the ganging up by Obama she did pretty damn well.

2- Edwards good as usual

10 where where 10-- even if they weren's Obama was at the bottom of the pack he sucked as usual. Trying to pretend he knew what the heck he was talking about. Straddling the fence on every issue. Trying to bash Hillary every chance he got and looking dumbed down as per usual.
