Astute Observation on MSNBC, HRC will NOT do as well if Debate is with 1 or 2 others...
... she does well on a stage with 6 other people, gives her a chance to catch her breath. She might not do as well where the debate is focused on the 2 or 3 where she would not get those breaks.

1. True. Obama and Edwards
would destroy her in a 3-person debate.

3. You're pretty cocky on behalf of your candidate.
I think the three of them would be well matched. And I would be happy to see any of them debate any of the Rethugs.

8. It's about the same as your response to every debate, though.
:)

9. If I saw a huge difference among any of the top tier
I'd care a lot more that our WA primary is nothing but a beauty contest (no electoral votes at stake).

But I don't, and this debate didn't change my mind.

22. That may be the most reasonable and fair post I've read
about the debate. I don't think any of the three particularly distinguished themselves tonight. I think Edwards did well, but he didn't do anything that says "I really stand out". All this makes sense because on policy, there really not all that different. There are some important differences, but it's not like night and day.

I think Biden did very well.

5. Any of our candidates will easily beat any of theirs.
Just as Gore soundly beat Bush, who sounded like a nincompoop even then.

But the MSM is capable of turning any win into a loss.

6. she did well in both of her Senate election debates against 1 candidate

11. And she'll certainly be running against either a moron or a kook next time, too
Is there any other kind of candidate left in that party?

7. Her big mistake was not fighting back tonight
you can't just stand there and get hit without at least retailiating once. Stop basking in the poll data and understand that a lot of voters still aren't sold on you. Where was the fighting Hilly who is supposed to make the Republican Party tremble? That and giving impossibly political answers on the release of her papers, social security (fuck the bipartisan commission, tell us what your ideas are) and the drivers license for immigrants question.

You sure backed down in a hurry. Actually, you haven't seen her in a one on one debate so you have no idea, do you?

20. She's done it before. She wiped the floor with Lazio. He came off as a boorish prick.
That said, we'd have to look at who else was on the stage.

If more people drop out, and there are more opportunities to respond, it could be both a challenge and an opportunity for ANYONE up there.

23. He was a bully, and she was much less polished. But she did well.
He basically came at her with that typical, snarky, sarcastic rightwing shit. You know that attitude when you see it--it's the sort of smartass rhetoric that makes you want to pick up a baseball bat and beat the shit head senseless!

He got in her face and started waving something he wanted her to sign--a stupid pledge--and she just looked at him like he had a penis growing out of his forehead or something. She came off as reasonably cool considering the provocation, and he came off like a bullying nitwit. It probably helped her considerably, that debate.

I can't comment on anyone's performance in this last debate, though--I haven't seen it yet. The vote in the household was for DWTS--The Results!

I'll have to try to find it tomorrow...

24. At times, HRC seems to be running against Bush.
That won't work very well when the field narrows - especially when it is down to the actual campaign against the Republican. The same applies to all the Dem candidates, but she seems to rely on attacking Junior's horrible record more than the others. Maybe I'm misreading the situation...
