I kinda doubt they do, and they should, in my opinion...if they did, they might actually find their balls and stand up to Mr. 24%...and Keith is the ONLY liberal-Democratic host on TV, so it seems like they should, just for that reason alone...

1. Yes they do--just so they know what the "looney" left is thinking and they can
then go the other way.

2. Nope. I think they're probably doing dinner at that hour. However, their
staffs likely watch, and if there's something 'salient' they'll call it to their principal's attention. They won't force the legislator to sit through "worst person in the world" or the stupid oddball shit (unless the principal's name is mentioned in it) but if there's something important--by that I mean something that casts new light or import on an issue--they'll gin up a clip to show to the boss.

3. If that's true
then why don't they act like an opposition party? Kieth comments on that all the time, while showing factual evidence that the Dems could literally pull Bush's nuts out and stomp on them publicly, and actually GAIN popularity by doing so. This country is so hungry for leadership, as Kieth points out constantly, that if the Dems showed actual - not merely rhetorical - spine, this country would surge behind them.

So again, if what you say is true, then WFT?

4. The staff isn't going to show them something that radically differs from the
stance of the principal, UNLESS it has potential to impact the principal in a negative manner, or if it is something that is going to go "mainstream" and put the legislator in defense mode. If it agrees with the principal or mentions him/her, it'll be in the VCR.

You have to realize they have long and busy days, with every second scheduled, quite often--they don't have time to lounge around watching TV. And even though Olbermann is gaining in popularity every day, and he is very popular on this forum, his total market share is SMALL in the big picture.

They apparently have a different take than KO on the strategic benefits of confrontation. It's true that confrontation works sometimes--it worked for Newt Gingrich for awhile, but then, when people got sick of it, they got TOTALLY sick of it and handed him his walking papers. It could be they don't like the timing, yet.
