The story is bad enough. Why is this news? Why did this need to be said? The choice of courageous is as bad as printing the story. I had something to say to them. I am not the best letter writer but I had to send them something.

I read your story about Tim Hardaway with disgust only to come out of the story and see your poll.

Is writing about a bigoted big mouth not enough? Your choices are insulting. Courageous? Since when is bigotry courageous? Disgusting, I would have thought a paper could do better than that. My choice for you and Hardaway? Insulting and hateful.

Doubt I hear back. Who makes these decisions? Idiots apparently.

Thanks for your note. The purpose of a poll is to seek varied opinions, and
like it or not, the e-mail we've received from visitors are peppered with
'Way to go, Tim' responses.

If we didn't give people a chance to express those positions, how valid
would it be? And if the poll isn't valid, nobody would vote for the choices.
