Any one else sick to death of this unending election?
We still have 3 months until the primaries/caucuses and another 11 months to get to the election itself. Is there anyway we can get a movement going to shorten the campaign to a season and not be ending like the * wars?

2. If I didn't hear anymore about it until November whatever of next year.....
It would be too soon.....If the economy, war, attacks on rights and liberties, and everything else keep moving in their current direction, the election won't matter anyway.

those who are announcing a run in 2012 are a bit early.

5. I haven't even been paying attention.
As far as I'm concerned, it is not an election year.

I've never been much interested in the horse-racing aspect of politics. And our elections are both inane and endless.

7. It's beyond ridiculous. I remember in 68 when
Eugene McCarthy was slugging pretty much alone through the snows of New Hampshire in February. It wasn't until March that LBJ announced he wasn't running again, which paved the way for both Humphrey and RFK's tragically cut short campaign.

Why we have to endure almost two years of this is beyond me. I'd be all for limiting the campaign calendar to the year in which the election was actually taking place.

9. Yes. Yes. Yes.
Did I say yes? How did this happen, anyway?

I'm betting burnout will decrease the number who actually vote, and decrease the number who vote wisely: With all the pundits spinning rumors, true or otherwise, no one will know what to believe.

11. Well
I think it clearly has something to do with have a president popular with only 24 % of the slime mold that can answer opinion surveys.

15. The circus is in town and the clowns have their hands out.
The ONLY good thing is that the politicians have more opportunities to stick their feet irretrievably in their mouths.

16. It'll get more unendingly before it doesn't
Worry about the 2016 election in 2011. The 2020 election in 2013. The 2024 election in 2012. The 2030 election in 2008. The 2034 election in 2005. Eventually we'll know the outcome already by going back in time forward into the future, we'll send back a grunt from our militray to have sex with the mother of our future leader who sent us back into time even though he couldn't have been born to do it without sending that person back in the first place, the Libians show up looking for their wind farm, Arnold says he'll be back as the governor of 1988 Nebraska, and then it just sort of gets blurry after that.

18. Canada takes 35 days to choose its government.
It's fucking ridiculous. No sooner is a President newly elected than said incumbent is already planning the re-election. These election cycles are inexcusibly long.

20. And that is what the MSM and the repukes want.
Edited on Wed Oct-31-07 02:30 PM by Javaman
that's why I have stayed out of the "I have chosen my candidate" threads.

I refuse to choose anyone until the primaries start.

right now it's all fluff and bullshit (whenever is it anything else? lol)

the primaries cuts to the bone and will really separate the survivors from the wanna-be's.

this needless 2 year crap is useless. all it does is act as a distraction from the real issues, Makes the tv talking heads feel important and gives names to people who otherwise would have no use to society at all.

watching the two parties debates can be summed up as this:

repukes: I'm tougher than any of you and I will kick everyones ass and scare the crap out of more people than you can.

Dems: I'm trying hard not to look like a repuke but if I don't scare the crap out of all of you, I will look weak, so therefore, I will yell my stand on the various platforms louder than anyone else, that makes me look tough.

When the true unending campaign of going from state to state with little to no sleep on nothing but crap food and day old underwear (if they are lucky) begins, then you will see what the candidates are really made of, this is all bullshit now.

And here you are reminding me there's 14 months to go.
