I forgot why was it Karl Rove wanted Hillary to get the nomination?
Seems like the rightwingers thought she would be the easiest to defeat? Memory fails me.

2. They did the same thing with Howard Dean...
I listened to a lot of right-wing talk radio during the 04 election. The Republicans
talked up John Kerry and how he would be a tough opponent. They feigned respect for him.

On the other hand, they couldn't trash Howard Dean enough. They went rabid on him.
Rush Limbaugh tore at Dean day after day--calling him a crazed loon and positioning
him as an unbalanced liberal who would turn the country into pot-smoking, Birkenstock
wearing, hippie freaks.

Wouldn't you know...those Republicans, it turns out, couldn't wait to run against
John Kerry. They had the Swifties waiting in the wing and the more ammunition against
him, than they had for any other candidate. They had Kerry's voting record, plenty
of anti-war videotape (that could be used to suggest that was "weak on security") and
plenty of supposed "flip flops".

Now we look at who the media is touting and who the Republicans are praising. Why,
it's Hillary. I heard Newt Gingrich practically fall over himself on "Meet The Press"
praising her political savvy. He couldn't say enough nice things about her. Same
for the rest of talk radio. They're either staying away from her or bashing her
very little.

Limbaugh used to talk ONLY about Hillary and Bill for months. In the early 90's,
Limbaugh's entire living was made off the Clintons. Now, he has barely anything
to say. He's got the goods on both of them, and he could resurrect all of those
old Hillary topics. He chooses to not do so. Gee....why?

They all want to run against her. The Republicans are trying to ensure that she
is our nominee so we can lose the election.

4. That is why Dems should nominate John Edwards.
He would be the most difficult to defeat.

7. Yep, I figured that's who Rethugs want to run against since the RW noise machine
starting touting her months ago.

9. You said it well
"The Republicans are trying to ensure that she is our nominee so we can lose the election."

Bingo.

And how quickly we seem to have forgotten the RW's tactics (as you so aptly illustrate), even when they are so obvious. Hillary mobilizes the pukes and, God love her, divides the Dems. Piece of cake.

8. You are so wrong.
The RW and the media want her to to be the candidate. The scripts are waiting and they will be regurgitations of all of the crap from the Clinton years. Months of it. I'm so over the Clintons and have been for some time. It is time for someone else to lead--new faces and names and ideas. Perhaps we can start dragging the center back to the center then.
