Fair Comparison?
Conservatives can't do comedy (witness 1/2 News Hour, Dennis Miller, Larry the Cable Guy)

just like Liberals can't do talk radio/cable news-style punditry (Air America, Alan Colmes, etc).

There are exceptions on each side (Keith Olbermann of course, Larry Miller?), but this stereotype stuck in my head this morning after reading this article:

1. Conservatives consider it comedy to demean others
All they know about comedy seems to be making fun of people and IMO the majority is getting sick of it. Liberals can't be successful with talk radio for the same reason. They don't find it funny to make fun of people or to demean them and that seems to be what sells in talk radio in America. All talk radio is losing ground, not just Liberal talk radio.

2. As far as the liberal talk shows, it is my opinion that liberals don't need talk shows
Liberals are able to make up their own minds about most subjects whereas the cons, need someone telling them what to think or say they think.
As far as the comedy, cons just don't understand it therefore it wouldn't be worthwhile for a con to try hard at comedy.

3. You can't buy 'funny'?
comedic talent ...shucks..any talent beyond turning a buck is beyond those with the single-minded purpose of power and control.

4. How do you squeeze "Dennis Miller" and "comedy" into the same sentence?
Oxymoron.
