Do you believe political change is in the air?
The election results were amazing, of course, but do you think it means the US is entering a new era of progressiveness? I'm scared that there are still too many haters in the US and I'm not sure how much we can change when there is still so much xenophobia.

2. The psychochristianfascists get me down.
There are so many of them. Or at least they make it seem like there are so many of them ...

I dunno. I vacillate between optimism and despair about this nation.

4. yes but...
Change is coming but look at history and the cost. I mean the 30's and 40's were a progressive era and a ton of great victories were accomplished, social security, pensions, unions, finance, the start of civil rights. But the cost and pain of the era from the HUGE mistakes of the 20's.

So, yes we are getting change but...to fix the massive clusterfuck that is Iraq and the middle east, to start making some headway on Global warming after almost 20 fucking years of denial, don't get me started on health care, retirement security, etc.

So, yeah, it'll be a progressive era but damn the cost, I mean for Christ's sake we coulda had the debt paid down by the end of this decade!!

6. Not "progressiveness", but moderation
I feel that there is a definite move to the left, which puts us in the center.
I feel that Americans on the whole have given up on the neo-cons and the goof-ball right.

I think we will win in 2008 too. I can't think of anyone who they could nominate that could possibly win against any of our guys (and gal). I totally reject the "Hillary can't win" meme. She can and she will.

( I hope Clark enters. Until then I am undecided on my choice in the primary )

7. 2008
depends on what happens in the presidential election. If the Democratic candidate wins, then i think it may be a beginning of a tilt to the left in America. After tilting way too far to the right during the Bush presidency, it would be a balancing I suppose.

It is all heavy speculation and guesswork but I think the Democrat is in the advantageous position right now.

13. Not till the fairness doctrine is put back in place
The media still controls how and what we see. It frames the world view for most. And until it is made responsible to its commitment to provide unbiased information it will continue to bend that view to it's corporate advantage.
