Was Anne Frank Israeli?

My post was moved to Israel/Palestine, but I don't even think Israel was a country when Anne died, does anyone know?

19. No, of course not, but I remember from the TV miniseries a few years

ago (the one that told what happened before and after the time covered by her diary, based on recollections of people who knew her in Amsterdam and in the camps) that her sister Margot planned to go to Palestine if she survived the war (which, of course, she didn't).

IIRC, the Franks fled Germany after the Nazis took power and started persecuting the Jews there. They ended up settling in Amsterdam for a while, which went well for them until the Nazis invaded and occupied the Netherlands. Soon after that, they went into hiding in that attic we've all read about.
