ipod emergency

It's a 30gig video ipod. Tried to plug in some computer speakers and it locked up pretty solid. Won't let me turn it off, itunes won't recognize it when its conected. just wondering if theirs any manual reset. Any info is appreciated.

10. Anytime.
I searched forever on how to reset my mini the first time it pooped out on me. Seems to do the trick every time!

Right here. It's a page from an article I read recently about the White Screen of Death. You may not have the WSoD, but the steps on the page should cover your options at this point. Here is a link to the first page of the article, which is pretty decent on the topic of locked iPods.

9. My nano has done the same thing twice...
Tried all the suggested procedures and nothing worked. All I did was wait for the thing to run out of battery, then recharge it and it was fine. Do NOT know the source of the problem, but letting it die seemed to cure it. On both occassions the thing was FULLY CHARGED, so now I just never top-off the battery and have had no further problems.
