Watching Godfather 2
Is the sleazy, crooked Nevada governor trying to shake down Michael Corleone supposed to be based on Harry Reid? Or another corrupt Nevada politician?

Just wondering.

Far superior even to the original Godfather.

Who has Reid shaken down?

I want to learn from your knowledge.

2. Not familiar w/ Nevada politics
but have heard a few times that Harry knew how to "get along" w/ casino owners.

Not sure the character was modeled after him, but am curious about who they were referring to.

4. Well, considering that it was made in 1974.......
.......and Reid wasn't even elected to Congress until 1982, that's pretty unlikely.

It has been rumored, however, that the character of Senator Harrison Roberts (get it??......."HR"??) in Casino was patterned after Reid.

3. Harry Reid was Nevada lieutenant governor in 1972.
And he was 33 that year, so it's not likely.

Besides, sex scandals are pretty much always Republican. At least these days.

6. HaHa!
I hadn't thought of that but it makes sense. An Excellent movie. Godfather I and II are in the top ten of my all time favorites.
