Will she run again for Senate? Look for a cabinet post or Ambassadorship? Retire and do the speaking rounds, like Bill does? I really have no idea what she might do, but it seems rather unlikely that she's stay in government, or run again in 2012.

1. The only reason she ever ran for the Senate was to prep for a presidential run
If she doesn't become prez, she'll probably serve out her current term, then go do something else.

2. What Senator Clinton will do is:
Immediately endorse whoever DOES win the nomination and then campaign her ass off to get him elected POTUS.

Then she'll run for re-election to her NY Senate seat.

5. I doubt she'll be pressed into campaigning heavily
Nobody wants to be saddled with her negatives.

11. Her "negatives" are actually A LOT LOWER than you think
Senator Clinton's positives are very high, her negatives are pretty low.

IF she doesn't win the nomination, the nominee will be desparate to have her campaign for him.

18. I agree
But then that seemed obvious to me. Of course she would then support whomever did get the nomination and run for re-election in the Senate.

Sometimes, I've noticed, DU needs the obvious spelled out for them. :)

4. She will likely serve out her Senate term.

I am unsure if she would run for reelection again.

I doubt she would run for Prez again.

19. "I doubt she would run for Prez again."
I think it would depend on who wins the election. If the dems win, then yeah I don't think that she'd run again. But if a repub wins, I could possibly see her running again for 2012...or not. Who knows really? Let's wait until February and see who gets the nod first. :)

14. She still has 4 years left on her Senate term
I wouldn't expect her to make any immediate changes.

21. Why not? Barry Goldwater, Hubert Humphrey, George McGovern
and Teddy Kennedy all ran again for the Senate after losing the election or nomination.

switch parties and become republicans a la Goldwater tradition?
