Why was my post locked?

The first thread I ever started on here got over 140 replies, I didn't think it was too controversial and I certainly didn't 'copy' or repost someone elses thread and it was locked.

IBTL means in before the lock because this will get locked since you are supposed to email mods to ask questions like this.

Reedited to add you can always appeal and ask for it to be unlocked if there is reason. Nothing personal, it happens to us all and sometimes topics get threadjacked.

I don't think your subject was taboo, I think some of the answers were. Sometimes that happens. But just for the record, I don't have trouble showering with a gay guy either. And welcome to DU.

The thread had gone very far off topic. It had nothing to do with your original post but was locked due to the conversation spinning out of control.

This thread is also going to be locked because it is against the rules to discuss reasons for locks in the public forum. If you want to discuss such things then email the mod that locked the thread.
