What is an insurgent ?
Edited on Fri Feb-16-07 11:34 AM by Patmccccc
This question has been asked in here already I am sure. Just curious, is a new Iraqi mother trying to protect her family an insurgent? Or the 7 year old boy that is mad as Hell cause he no longer has parents or brothers and sisters an insurgent? What would YOU do if YOUR door was kicked in, even if you were following all the militaries new rules, wouldn't you feel violated and angry?

1. It's relative in definition.
Kind of like "one man's patriot is another man's terrorist". It depends upon who is defining whom.

3. Especially relevant question in light of info about those Quds weapons
the Chimperor is so concerned about.

Michael Ware of CNN says the Iranian weapons are not going only to "Insurgents" but also to SCIRI which backs the Shia faction and al Maliki, i.e. the guy we're backing. http://thinkprogress.org/2007/02/12/sciri-iran/

A VERY interesting piece of information which could mean someone is TRYING to provoke escalation. Now who would that be?

4. in this context- "pissed off locals"
I am willing to bet that "foreigners" are not the problem; the locals are mad as hell and are striking back. Sure, there are probably a few outsiders, but not that many.

5. What the heck are you talking about?
The people who are blowing up our troops are insurgents. The people who are blowing up Iraqi civilians as they go shopping are insurgents. The people who are kidnapping rival members of Shiite or Sunni clans, herding them out to a field, and shooting them all in the back of the head, are insurgents.

Does that help you?

12. There are thousands of young boys and girls, and mothers in graves now in Iraq...
So which of those graves hold insurgents or were justified kills... The military won't/can't answer the question.

15. Why don't you ask the Sunni and Shiite death squads who sent them to their grave?
They could give you the best answer.

6. It's a revolutionary that our media doesn't like.
An insurgency is a rebellion.

It's a lot of tap dancing to avoid saying Iraq is in a civil war.
