We've got a few people working on Ginny Brown-Waite and Gus Bilirakis, in Florida's 5th, and 9th districts right now.

Their staff sounds very underworked. They need some calls to keep them busy.

1. I'd like to call but I can't because my congressman died this week. :(

It will be a while unitl we replace Mr. Norwood (R-GA). I used to have a Democratic congressman (John Barrow) but hte GA Republics redistircted him out of his home district. He's been re-elected but in a different district (he moved from Athens to Savannah.) I'm not sure how Norwood would have voted. He was a decorated Vietnam vet and very conservative. He would've probably voted to keep funding the surge.

5. I just got off the phone with my Republic congressman's office.

What a crock of bullshit I just heard. The staffer said that the troops are already on their way and there's nothing that the congressman can do. I said, that if didn't want the responsibility to provide checks and balances against an out-of-control imperial president, he should resign immediately.

My congressman is Tim Murphy. He's a piece of crap Bush-bot idiot. He has kids and I told the staffer he needs to send HIS kids over to Iraq to have their arms and legs blown off or come back dead or brain-damaged, if he supports the escalation, or if he refuses to act on the will of his constituents.

I HATE these bastards.
