It's no big surprise that 229 DEMS and 17 Repugs voted today in support of the resolution of disapproval regarding Shrub's wasteful escalation in Iraq.
Yet this vote will not stop one bullet from being shipped to Iraq. Shrub and Shooter know this and are not losing any sleep over a nonbinding vote...not yet anyway. March 19th, 2007 marks the 4 year anniversary of this tragic Iraq disaster - and by that time - if not sooner, I demand as an American that you in the House and Senate do the work of We The People and vote for a binding resolution!
Everyone that voted last November for regime change went on-the-record with a binding vote that held meaning. I expect no less of any politician on the Hill. For a gut check, please see Russ Feingold, Ted Kennedy, Barbara Boxer, Barack Obama, or Dennis Kucinich for a proposed plan to END funding of the continuation of this damn war. See their plans with actual time-lines to measure benchmarks of accountability.
If you ever wanted to show some courage, now is the time. 130 American soldiers have died in Iraq since the DEMS took over leadership on the Hill on January 4th, 2007. We are watching, hoping, and praying that your new leadership will be just that - leadership!
