Wow. I thought Dubya would back out of this one

(What? Me worry?)

Bush to welcome old foe Gore to White House

WASHINGTON (AFP) - Former US vice president Al Gore will make a triumphant return to the White House on November 26 when US President George W. Bush honors US Nobel Prize winners, a Bush spokesman said Friday.

It will be Gore's first time visiting Bush at the White House since the Republican took office in January 2001 after the flawed 2000 election pitting them against each other ended with a controversial US Supreme Court ruling.

White House spokesman Tony Fratto said Gore would be part of a group of five US Nobel laureates that Bush will welcome into the Oval Office...

I have to wonder, exactly how little man will try to humiliate Mr. Gore. My guess? He'll make all the laureates sit in chairs so he'll look taller.

1. His writers are probably working on some stupid joke as we speak.
Those fuckers don't ever have to go on strike.

4. This will be one of the most painful moments of Bushler's life.
Mmmmm! ... Schadenfreude. :9

11. Bushler knows he wasn't elected, and will have to face the man from whom he stole the election
AND he will be thinking about how Gore 'stole' his Nobel the whole time. :D

I bet Bushler will go on a drinking binge. :)

chimpy will assume a dominant smirky stance, and I just couldn't stand that.

23. I won't be able to stand it either
But Gore is a class act
And he'll finally be rightly in the room he SHOULD be occupying
And the shrub will know that

Do you think he (Bush) ever, ever, ever regrets what he did, or even knows it was wrong, or comprehends the enormity of the damage he has done to this country, the lives lost.. dear lord, how could he live with himself if he did? I wonder about that a lot.

What a different world it would be, but for a 5-4 Supreme Court Decision. Unreal that almost 8 years have passed..

I'm sure he could finesse a request like that in some sort of a gentlemanly manner.

10. I still wonder if this will come to pass
While it is customary for the US president to meet with Nobel Laureates, I can't imagine this useless waste of our tax dollars standing in the same room with the real President. Toothache maybe? Emergency hemorrhoid surgery? Let Dick do it?

14. Yes, but he does have an ego
And that ego is as fragile as his grip on reality. I just can't see it happening and if it does, well, it won't be pretty. Hey, I know - there will be no photographers allowed...that's it!

15. I don't want to see it. I think it will be a big photo op, and bushler
will be all condescending smirking smiles throughout. It's his world, and we're all just livin in it. I think he will see it as a chance to rub Gore's nose in it, rather than an honorific to Gore.
