Chicago Police Taser 82-Year-Old Grandmother During Welfare Check
Chicago Police Taser 82-Year-Old Woman
By DON BABWIN

CHICAGO (AP) — Chicago's Police Department is investigating an officer's use of a Taser last month on an 82-year-old woman who police say was swinging a hammer when they arrived. Lillian Fletcher was rushed to the hospital after being jolted by the Taser last week but has been released, police said Tuesday.

Officials with the city's Department on Aging went to her home Oct. 29 to make a welfare check and called police when they saw Fletcher in a window swinging a hammer, police spokeswoman Monique Bond said Tuesday. Officers arrived and in an attempt to subdue Fletcher, one of them used a Taser, Bond said. The department is trying to determine whether the officer violated department policy on the use of stun guns.

Fletcher said Tuesday that officers pushed their way into her home. "They shocked me," she said. Fletcher at times sounded confused during the telephone interview. Her granddaughter Traci Taylor told the Chicago Sun-Times that her grandmother has schizophrenia and dementia. "My grandmother is easily confused," Taylor told the newspaper, adding that the woman can be belligerent but is about 5 feet 1 and weighs no more than 160 pounds.

"I just don't think they should be Tasing 82-year-old women. That's ridiculous," Taylor said. Tasers use compressed nitrogen to fire two barbed darts that can penetrate clothing to deliver a 50,000-volt shock to immobilize people.

4. And people wonder why cops are being killed in greater numbers every year?

The relationship between Imperial Amerika and it's Underclass, white, black, and all colors, is now that of a Third World Dictatorship and it's subjects. Naturally using the new "kinder and gentler" BushPutinist Template, which is designed to camoflauge itself until it is too late for the peasantry to do anything about it, at which time it reveal it's Penultimate and Final Solutions for the Liberal Problem.

As time goes on and the Middle Class is detsroyed, the Underclass will grow and so will insurgency conditions that many cities are beginning to face today...even if the "insurgents" themselves do not realize it.

The cops, for their part, are victims of Trickle-Down Tyranny, under which evidence fabrication and jailing the innocent must be on the rise (oh, for some way to measure this and track it's rise!), along with casual taser-brutality (after all, didn't BushiGov say they were safe to use?) of the weak, kids, sleeping men, and grandmothers.

This is also the behavior of a Thug Force Serving a Totalitarian Dictator, even if the cops themselves do not understand what is fueling them.

As you can see, insurgency, thug-totalitarian-crackdown is a vicious cycle for now those related to that tasered grandmother will be "insurgents", probably for the rest of their lives.

Who can blame them?

8. The Underclass of Imperial Subjects of Amerika are beginning their insurgency
Edited on Sat Nov-17-07 10:30 AM by tom_paine
Whether they know it or not. Truthfully, the "insurgent's mentality", not the violent part of it, will become more and more valuable to all of us as Imperial Amerika continues to travel down the path towards the Penultimate and Final Solutions to the Liberal Problem.

The saddest part is that these Urban Insurgents are killing relatively innocent people. Those local cops, for whatever they are, are not who rules Amerika.

It is not they who are guilty of shredding Old America's Middle Class, thus nuking Old America's Underclass as "collateral damage" (or perhaps not so collateral). They are just some poor slobs trying to make a buck, many of them joined out of the desire to do good in this world, and most ofthem at least a majority, are honest, I believe.

But Bushie Tyrants, in all the forms they have come in: Nazis, Soviets, Tonton macoute, Pinochet's Wingnuts, seldom allow their victims to get close enough to do them harm.

That's what the poor stupid slobs just ytrying to make a living are for...the Dirty Work that is too base to soil the hands of Bushies with.

10. A co-worker and i were talking the other day.
Police have always like this. It just used to be their victims were of darker skin, white trash, gays, or any other of the so called underclass. Nowadays it's just anyone and everyone so it gets more notice.

Him and i also discussed some kind of group to promote awareness, distribute info on how to proptect yourself from overzealous police etc.

2. 82 years old, that's ok, but a Grandmother! Never!
:)
Just kidding. It's ridiculous that police felt they had to taser this woman. I think cops really need to have some courses in how to handle people because there are other ways of handling things than simply using some form of physical violence.

7. Are the cops that incompetent that they can't take the hammer
away from an 80 year old woman? Without harming her?

9. That wouldn't have been as much FUN!
Like the cops that tasered the Black guy sleeping on his couch. Would wakinghim and asking him who owned the house have been as much FUN, as assuming he was a criminal and tasering him?

I think not.
