1. Now I know where I'm gonna do my shopping...
Bloomingdale's -- "no Christmas e-card or gift card, but there is a Hanukkah e-card."

Naughty in their book, but just fine in mine.

2. Actually, the season is Winter Solstice and the return of the light ---
Where I shop, they used to put holiday decorations up just BEFORE Labor Day --- !!!!!

So I used to ride the escalator every Labor Day wishing everyone "Merry Christmans" --- !!!
It was really dumb --

They've now returned to doing it just before Thanksgiving --- which I think is still early --
for Christmas.

Also --- they play those dumb holiday songs --- White Christmas????
Those old, old, old, old songs over and again until it drives you out of the store.

They're starting slowly this year --- but it's the same old songs ---

And, Stop 'n Shop had POINTSETTIAS TODAY !!!! EGADS!!!

As someone who is not involved with organized patriarchal religions ---
No buying decorations --
no trees to worry about ---
no presents --- gift cards when necessary

as a Vegan --- no turkey, no running around and cooking wildly for a one day event ---
out to dinner --- and, btw, we need more restaurants to be open on Thanksgiving + Xmas.

OPEN YOUR RESTAURANTS --- P L E A S E !!!!

Women need to stop all the work and sit down and enjoy the holiday with everyone else ---

Personally, I think we should cancel Thanksgiving until Iraq is over ---

That would be a very nice anti-war protest --- !!!

4. Right...
Christmas as they are projecting is a recent, essentially 20th Century invention geared only towards US Protestant religions (and only a few of those at that). To heck with the fact other religions seem to have major holy days around this same time period.

5. Christians have to fight something. We went through Romans, Muslims,
Pagans, Blacks, Liberals, Muslims again.

Since most of that didn't work out we might as well battle stores.
