Do your self a favor and keep Politics off the table tomorrow.
Families have enough hidden feuds than to throw out flame bait at the annual gathering. Happy Thanksgiving!

1. eh, My Father in Law usually starts it
I generally don't discuss politics at family functions, but he almost always brings it up. At a certain point, I can't help but respond - it usually stays civil although last year, my wife (who usually does stay out of it) told her dad he was "just plain ignorant" for not believing in Global Warming.

2. Yeah, just remember there are probably bigger turkeys sitting around the table than on the table...
Except in the KansDem household: immediate family only and we're all Dems...

5. My former Republican mom and I get along just fine
Not since I was a teenager have we ever had a heated disagreement on a political matter.

The one where we still totally disagree - I favor legalization of cannabis - we simply don't discuss. Everything else is on the table.

6. They Sure Aren't As Loud As They Used To Be
Our family has a black sheep...the lone Repugnican among three generations of Democrats. A couple years ago, he spewed the talking points non-stop...even telling up we should listen to Michael Savage to hear "the real truth"...my laughter said volumes. At one function, he was so obnoxious, I offered not only to buy him the plane ticket to Iraq but transport him to the airport right then and there. Somehow he declined my offer. That was then, this is now.

Last couple of gatherings he's been very quiet. I know he's still stuck in kool-aid land, but he has lost that bluster...and, on my front, he's too easy a target to pick on. If anything I'm sure he'll try to avoid mixing it up with me or my wife. Poor bastard still can't see how badly he's been taken.
