http://clerk.house.gov/ = general site to find out how they voted

How they voted on the resolution: http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2007/roll099.xml

On edit: you have to select the day the vote happened, read the floor summary, & find the roll call for the resolution you're interested in.

On home page LOOK UNDER FEATURED LINKS "House Iraq Debate" or just click on the links below:

TALLY (alphabetical):

(Dems are in italics, Pubs are not in italics in both lists, so you can tell which crossed over).

MAP of State Breakdown:

(Roll over the map and get the totals by state)

5. Yes. Great site.
And, for the first time since I was born in 1952, my congressmen are Democrats and they both voted YES! Now, when people ask me where I'm from, I don't have to look like this;

6. Fortenberry, Smith, and (of course) Terry. The three republican assholes
from Nebraska were amongst the 182 who sat on their asses safely in this country, with no doubt no one family member in Iraq, and voted against the resolution.

What a state.

7. Nebraska is certainly not alone

I was watching some of the House speeches this week and it was just amazing how the rightwing is clinging like a pack of rabid dogs to their delusion that everything would be fine if we just "give them a chance to win it." (ie. support the Surgilator)

There were many, many fiery bravado speeches by Repugs defending the war, citing 9-11, supporting El Prez--I have to think they are reflecting their constituency (but would that constituency be the war profiteers or the fundie base?). It's like they talk in code--to the fundie base it's what they want to hear. To the corporate base, reading between the lines, it means at least a few more years of gravy. Big energy profits, big wartime profits. Meanwhile we get hit by $100+ "energy surcharges" from the power company on a month's power bill in wintertime. That's the surge I want to talk about.

I can't believe that all the people in the Repug districts are happy about their reps position on Iraq. People are paying attention to the issue now. They're not as easily fooled.

8. Seriously, here in Hee Haw-ville they are stereotypically supporting the
bush** adminstration. Other than the largest cities in the state (Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island), the majority of these clowns are as backwards and politically ignorant as you'll find anywhere in this country.

9. a BIG schism is developing ...
it's like the informed half of the country vs. the uninformed (or shall we say the Foxed). There are 2 strong alliances now --ie. those realistic enough to admit mistakes and do something about it --vs. those delusional enough to go into deep denial and "stay the course." I guess it's just the sheer numbers of the delusional that amazes me.

10. you can also read what your rep had to say...
True Majority has a database of what each House member who spoke on the resolution had to say. Sadly, my rep said nothing (but still voted for it, so it wasn't a total wash). Here's the link:

11. thanks
This transcript seems pretty complete--you may have to scroll down a bit as they are compiled in a bunch, but look for the name of the rep in CAPS....
