If you want to work on a volunteer project to get the word out to boycott some companies that give money to the GOP and pressure them into going to Senator McConnell to stop the filibuster and the veto and get some progressive legislation please email me at

info@dmocrats.org

with the subject line: LEGISLATION

thank you.

7. I'm glad he said he was in the Senate. One is never sure if
Ol' Bean Ball Bunning ever has a clue where he is on any given day. I'm pretty sure his staff writes his name and a "Return to Mitch McConnell if found" on the palm of his hand each day.

116. well, it's very sad
Edited on Sat Feb-17-07 01:34 PM by MissWaverly
since even here in Maryland, it was obivious to me that your Sen. Jim Brunning had some
serious health issues that have impacted on his ability to carry out his job. It is
so sad that cronyism trumps the demands for a competent official. You are saying Mitch
McConnell's influence help re-elect Brunner, the same Kentucky senator who is so ardent a defender of George Walker Bush?

101. Whispering campaigns that his oppenent was gay probably did
the trick. It was the same tactic used by Ernie Fletcher in his first run for governor. Rumors of homosexuality is a hallmark of a McConnell directed campaign.

powers over straights. One come hither glance an poof! you're gay.

119. I have no idea why that is
Andy Stephenson, the political activist who believed so fervently in verified paper ballots
was gay, he was a wonderful person and a force for good. I believed that God would never
regret creating Andy, he would only regret that he only made one of him. Andy had a good
heart and was kind to practically everyone he met. No matter how hateful or mean some people were to him, he would never hate, he always said that he never had time for that,
and he didn't, he died of pancreatic cancer at age 43. And so when I hear of people
cringing in fear over "gay" people, I think of Andy, he was the best person that I
ever knew.

I am glad that you had a chance to know Andy, he loved this country and fervently believed
in voting reform, I saw nights when he was exhausted and in pain, he would be patiently
answering questions on how to jump in and get involved in fixing your local elections
process.

activist that tried to give the vote back to the people.

126. you have a difficult job
http://www.commoncause.org/site/pp.asp?c=dkLNK1MQIwG&b=486643 and I must admit that
although people diss Common Cause; I find their speakers the most effective, they
have the facts, they are articulate and they drive their point home.

the problem is that I like my Maryland TrueVoteMD.org and I think that your rep may want
to see local based information from Kentucky.

there is also an excellent resource page on DailyKOS regarding voting reform

http://www.dkosopedia.com/wiki/Main_Page

National Voting Rights Institute

http://www.nvri.org/

Pew Charitable Trusts
http://www.pewtrusts.com/ideas/index.cfm?issue=53 Although their
electionline.org does little for me.

61. Morning, everyone.
Someone found Judd Gregg's battery pack--hope it wasn't fully charged.

I hope someone in the Senate channels Tim Ryan this morning and points out to these whiners that they've had 4 years to get any dissenting ideas out there and we've heard nary a peep from them other then the Greek chorus they've provide for Little Boots.

I'm going to drop in and out for a while. I'm trying to be good and get my homework done--but I'm listening in on the debate.

I told him it was Pelosi's district, and the R's are scared we'll all be San Francisco-ized.

We both agree, we should be lucky, LOL. MKJ
