It’s that time of year again. Trees are starting to bloom in the warm parts of the US, and the cold parts shiver under a couple feet of new late winter snow. The aspens, which are connected, start to leaf out together. The early birds start to get their tax receipts sorted out, students look out the classroom window and dream of Fort Lauderdale… spring is almost here. And the most important, the most dependable sign of the time of year is here as well.

Cause John, every year at about this time, give or take a couple weeks, you open your mouth and say something really stupid that pisses off just about everyone but a few A-list bloggers.

Last year we got a twofer. Lucky us!

There was your take on Cynthia McKinney’s altercation with US Capitol security, in which you basically swallowed FoxNews’ version of the events whole, without chewing, and made it your own little pathetic Sister Souljah moment. And then there was your calling Senator Roberts a “big girl,” which wouldn’t have been so bad — we feminists and feminist supporters are a forgiving people — if you hadn’t gone on to claim that the people who called you on it were sabotaging your Super Important Campaign to Single-Handedly Save Teh Constitution!!1!:
