At least on our local pbs. Otherwise known as "Le Roi du Coeur," if you haven't seen it it's a fabulous movie though perhaps better with subtitles. A great look at the absurdity of war, and a great relief from the sad situation today.

3. yep, that's it
The inmates run the town their way. When opposing sides come back into town and start killing each other, the inmates are horrified at how crazy the soldiers are.

4. One of my favorites! I'm glad to learn it is being shown on TV. I'm sure I've never seen
it except renting it from the video store. Even in peace time, it is a great view...makes you appreciate the small "magical" things of life. As well as the absurdity of war.

7. I saw this years ago in Houston at a special Summer Film
festival at Alley theatre and it has remained one of my all time favorites! The 'insane' were the only sane ones! Alan Bates...

8. Plot reminds me a little of a Philip Dick novel:
Clans of the Alphane Moon, in which a guy goes to a prison planet for the mentally insane, and jobs and castes are broken down by disorder. The government/army/police are run by psychotic paranoids, the religious caste is goverened by schizophrenics, etc. Not only allegorical of how the real world works, but, as the book goes on, one begins to suspect that it might work BETTER if we put crazier people in charge.

And sadly, not on my local PBS station tonight. Might be a pledge night, too, since Monty Python's coming on later.
