KABUL, Afghanistan NATO-led forces in Afghanistan have shot and killed two civilians in Afghanistan.

They mistook one of the men for a suicide bomber. A statement says the man appeared be chanting as he crossed a road near a NATO convoy outside Kandahar and had what appeared to be wires poking out of his jacket. When he ignored two warning shots, troops killed him. The wires turned out to be threads or straps.

Another man was also shot and killed yesterday when he ignored warning shots that were fired when he ran between vehicles in a parked convoy.
